报道 ∣ 徐新教授莅汕大开课 会面广以李剑阁校长

南京大学“犹太和以色列研究所”所长、“中国犹太文化研究联盟”会长徐新教授，继去年为汕头大学“犹太-以色列文化活动”系列担任首位访问学人、并面向汕头大学、汕头市政协展开课程、工作坊、讲座等一系列活动之后，今年秋季学期，徐教授又再应邀莅校，为本科学生开设通识课程；同时，又为汕头大学文学院的中国语言文学专业硕士生讲授专业课程。

Prof. Xu Xin, Director of “Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies” of Nanjing University, and Director of “Chinese National Institute for Jewish Studies”, once served as the first visiting scholar at the invitation of the “Jewish-Israeli Culture Series” of Shantou University, then gave a series of courses, lectures and workshops in STU and the CPPCC in Shantou. In the Fall Semester of this year, Prof. Xu again shows his honorable presence, invited by STU, to give general education courses to the undergraduate students; in the meanwhile, he will teach specialized courses for postgraduate students majoring Chinese language and literature in College of Liberal Arts of STU.

10月17日上午，徐新教授又与广东以色列理工学院李剑阁校长会面，李嘉诚基金会代表同时出席了活动。徐教授首先向李校长介绍了南京大学“犹太和以色列研究所”、“中国犹太文化研究联盟”的创建和发展历程，以及近年来所关注的学术议题，比如以色列创新竞争力对中国的启示等国家课题的研究进展等；继而，徐教授也谈到了筹建中的“中以犹太研究院”，分享了这个新的研究机构的筹建情况、未来发展方向和研究重心。李校长则结合广东以色列理工学院的筹建过程和办学特色，就以色列教育、创新、犹太文化传承等问题与徐教授进行了交流。

On the morning of October 17, Prof. Xu Xin met Li Jiange, Chancellor of GTIIT, and the representative personnel from the Li Ka Shing Foundation. Prof. Xu first introduced to Chancellor Li the establishment and development of “Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies” of Nanjing University and “Chinese National Institute for Jewish Studies”, and the academic subjects of significance and interest in recent years, like the meaning of Israel’s innovative competency for China (which is a state-appointed project) and the progress of research thereon; later, Prof. Xu talked about “the China-Israel Institute for Jewish Studies”, which is now being prepared to construct, and introduced the preparatory work that has been done, the direction of future development and the focus of research. By introducing the preparation and construction of GTIIT and its unique features of education, Chancellor Li expressed his thoughts on issues like education and innovation in Israel and the inheritance of Jewish culture, etc., with Prof. Xu. 

最后，徐教授代表南京大学“犹太和以色列研究所”，向广东以色列理工学院的首届学生赠送了“南京大学犹太文化研究所文丛”的最新译著《为什么是以色列》，给这所新创建的高校和它的学生们赠予最美好的祝福。李校长代表接受了赠书，感谢南京大学“犹太和以色列研究所”的支持，并向徐教授回赠了潮汕文化纪念礼品。

Finally, on behalf of “Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies” of Nanjing University, Prof. Xu presented a special gift to the students enrolled into GTIIT in its first year: Israel Matters, the latest book translated among “Publications by Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies of Nanjing University”, in the hope of expressing the best wishes for this newly-built institute and its students. In turn, Chancellor Li accepted the books, expressed his thanks for the support from “Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies” of Nanjing University, and requited Prof. Xu’s goodwill with some souvenirs of Chaoshan culture.
